Executive Team

Rick has had a distinguished career spanning more than 33 years, seven national companies and two coasts. He has held senior and executive-level positions with organizations like Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Citifinancial and Nationstar (now Mr. Cooper) where he oversaw multiple channels including retail, consumer direct, wholesale, correspondent, and capital markets.

Immediately prior to joining Castle & Cooke Mortgage, Rick was the President and CEO of Western Bancorp, a wholesale lender based in California and lending throughout the western United States. During the 2008 financial crisis while at Nationstar, Rick led the restructure of the capital markets department, transitioning Nationstar from a subprime lender to a prime lender with Fannie, Freddie, FHA and Ginnie approvals.

For over 25 years, Jim Modrycki has successfully managed mortgage production and operations in retail, wholesale, and correspondent arenas at several large corporations and regional organizations. The combination of this varied experience allows Jim to be well-equipped to manage production at Castle & Cooke Mortgage.

Jim’s management style is a combination of transparent communication, clear direction, and consistent support while always recognizing that each team member is unique.

“I work with so many different professionals, all of whom have their own individual skill sets and strengths. I see it as my job to build upon these strengths to help them reach their highest and best potential rather than try to make them conform to a one-size-fits-all approach.”

Perris started in the mortgage industry as a receptionist in 2002 at Republic Mortgage Insurance Company (RMIC) in Las Vegas. She advanced quickly, proving herself in processing and then underwriting. In 2009, she accepted a leadership role with WJ Bradley Mortgage and has been leading underwriting and credit operations since then.

Perris loves solving problems and figuring out rational solutions that fit into the necessary credit parameters. Her wealth of experience in underwriting and credit is key to her leadership role at Castle & Cooke Mortgage.

In her spare time, Perris loves hiking, kayaking, camping and family time. She’s also a seasoned triathlete, proving that for her, dedication and persistence are a way of life.

Colleen Fisher is the SVP of Operations for Castle & Cooke Mortgage, overseeing all Mortgage Operations departments including Loan Coordinating, Processing, Closing, Funding, and Post-Closing. She also oversees the Loan Origination Systems Team and Training departments.

Before joining Castle & Cooke Mortgage in 2014, Colleen served as the Director of Operations at Primary Residential Mortgage in Salt Lake City, where she also held roles as Operations Manager and Program Administration Manager.

With 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, Colleen is motivated to make the loan manufacturing process as efficient as possible. She has been responsible for implementing systems and processes to make the operations run smoothly while supporting company growth and is driven to continuously improve processes in all aspects of the business.

Samantha Bateman is the Senior Vice President of Compliance for Castle & Cooke Mortgage. Her responsibilities include marketing reviews, social media monitoring, compliance trainings, the disclosure team, and matters related to TRID, HMDA, ECOA, and certain loan compliance-related escalations.

Scott Gonzalez is the Chief Financial Officer for Castle & Cooke Mortgage, overseeing the Finance/Accounting, IT, Servicing, and Facilities departments. He is focused on scalability, continual process improvement, and automation.

Prior to joining Castle & Cooke Mortgage in 2015, Scott provided financial assurance services for KPMG which is one of the four largest certified public accounting firms in the world. As well as being a CPA himself, Scott has vast assurance experience in industries including mortgage, financial services, banking, hedge funds, technology, retail, oil & gas, government, security, and more.

During his tenure with Castle & Cooke Mortgage, he has been integral to financial reporting, forecasting, debt covenant compliance, development of branch key metrics, and the implementation of the Company’s commission system. He and his wife stay busy trying to keep up with their three boys and enjoy any activity that is outdoors.

Katie brings a passion for relationships, a dedication to employee success and a commitment to excellent benefits to her position at the head of Human Relations. She oversees all aspects of the employee experience, from strategy and recruitment to retention, performance evaluations, benefits, compensation, and employee advancement.

In her first five years at Castle & Cooke Mortgage, Katie worked hard to forge relationships with branch managers at the home office and around the country. She builds on the strength of those connections to create a fun, engaging culture that rewards initiative and encourages growth. Daily, she puts a focus on increasing loan production at the branch level and helping Loan Officers be successful company wide.

Before joining Castle and Cooke Mortgage, Katie proved her chops at Nordstrom, Inc. She started as a sales associate and rose through the ranks quickly, accepting a position as human resources manager within just four years. Katie earned a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

In her free time, Katie can often be found enjoying the great outdoors. She’s an accomplished half marathon athlete and loves taking long hikes with her daughter, husband and their Great Dane, Denali.
